Vegan Licorice Candy Rossana – Drops

Over-sweet liquorice candies leave only sugar in the mouth. Gocce Rossana get straight to the point: a small, shiny, vegan drop that slowly releases the frank taste of liquorice. One or two are enough after a meal.

What you will taste

• Texture: crisp on the surface, then dense and slightly sticky.
• Aromas: aniseed, sweet wood and a root note.
• Taste: bittersweet and frank, it lingers in the mouth.

How to use it

• One or two after the espresso, to prolong the bitterness of the coffee.
• With an amaro or a grappa, at the end of a meal.
• With a square of dark chocolate: the two bitternesses answer each other.

Where it comes from

The Rossana brand was born in 1926 at Perugina, in Perugia, in Umbria; its name pays homage to Roxane, Cyrano de Bergerac’s beloved. Since 2016, it has belonged to the Piedmontese confectioner Fida, which makes it in Castagnole delle Lanze, in the province of Asti.
