Morelli Grappa – Tuscan Essence 38%

A Tuscan grappa for the digestif or the caffè corretto

A grappa that is too strong burns the throat and hides its aromas. Morelli's, at 38% vol., keeps the warmth without the aggression: a floral and fruity nose, a finish recalling fresh grape pomace. One small glass is enough to close the meal.

What you will taste

• Texture: slightly oily and velvety.
• Aromas: floral and fruity, notes of fermented grape.
• Taste: warm on the attack, then a grassy finish.

How to use it

• As a digestif after a meal of Tuscan charcuterie, finocchiona or lardo.
• A dash in an espresso: that's the caffè corretto, the “corrected” coffee.
• A drizzle over a tiramisu, just before serving.

Where it comes from

Grappa is an Italian spirit distilled from grape pomace, what is left after winemaking. This one comes from the Morelli house, founded in 1911 in Forcoli, in the Valdera, in the province of Pisa, by Leonello Morelli. The fourth generation of the family runs it today.
