Fabbri Amarena Cherries – Jar

Amarena cherries ready for your ice creams, cocktails and desserts

You lift the lid, and the smell of cherry and dark syrup rises right away. This 600 g jar is kept within reach: a few cherries on an ice cream, in a cocktail or on a panna cotta, and it's ready.

What you will taste

• Texture: meaty and firm, it resists slightly to the bite.
• Aromas: fruity, with a milky depth when you pour the syrup.
• Taste: bittersweet, the cherry's acidity stays beneath the sweet syrup.

How to use it

• On fior di latte or vanilla ice cream.

Where it comes from

Fabbri is a family house born in 1905 in Portomaggiore, near Ferrara, and later based in Bologna. Its Amarena dates from 1915: the recipe is by Rachele Buriani, the wife of Gennaro Fabbri, and the white and blue jar, signed by a Faenza ceramicist, has become a collector's item.
